Advices:
Adequate clothing for riding in the mountains (during the winter to protect against the wind and the cold, during the summer against the sun), and shoes high enough to protect your ankle. Hats are at your free disposal. You are welcome to bring your camera, binoculars, etc. and bathing suite on whole day rides.

Insurance:
The riders are kindly asked to have a valid travel insurance and insurance for accidents when riding with us.

Full Day Horse Trekking Adventure to Cueva del Agua – 100€
Riding ability: Medium Physical condition: Fairly fit Minimum riders: 2

This tough and adventurous trekking takes you from our stables in Canillas, towards the cave “Cueva del Agua” with water basins inside.

We ride through the town of Canillas de Albaida on the cobble stoned streets, dating back to Roman times and head towards the river Turvillo where we cross the old bridge. From here the trekking takes us into one of the most beautiful valleys and up into the mountains via narrow and winding paths. Around noon we reach the summit of the mountain El Cerro del Agua with its cave Cueva del Agua. Those who wish to explore the cave will find stalactites and stalagmites, but to enter will have to crawl on their bellies with torchlight and security ropes as there are a few steep slopes inside.

This tour is scheduled all year round.

Full Day Horse Trekking Adventure to River Patamalara - Casa la Mina – 100€
Riding ability: Medium Physical condition: Fairly fit Minimum riders: 2

After leaving our stables we ride through the outskirts of Cómpeta and into the Nature Park. We then head for the crossing of the river Patamalara, where we have a snack and a refreshing swim. From here we climb a steep mountain track towards Casa la Mina, where we stop for a solid lunch and a dip in their big swimming pool.

This tour is scheduled all year round.

Full Day Horse Trekking Adventure to the old Mule Traders Trail – 135€
Riding ability: Experienced & adventurous Physical condition: Very fit Minimum riders: 2

This tough and adventurous trekking takes you from our stables in Canillas de Albaida along the old mule traders trail into the Nature Park. These trails have been used by local traders with their mule caravans since the roman period and are not marked on the official maps, though our local park rangers do have them on their personal ones. The only civilized life we have a chance to meet is the really hardcore wanderers and horse trekkers as these trails are not wide enough for vehicles of any kind.

The riding will take us past old ruins of former country inns and they, as well as this area, were a known refuge for infamous bandits up till the end of the 19^th century. Though the inns did stay operational up till the middle of the last century, the clientele at the end of this era were a more peaceful kind. In the surrounding towns of Canillas de Albaida, Cómpeta and Archez you’ll still be able to meet old people who remember the unrestrained times in the old inns up in the secluded mountain area.

2 Day Horse Trekking Adventure to The Maroma summit – 390€
Riding ability: Mid level Physical condition: Fit Minimum riders: 4

This beautiful trekking takes you from our stables in Canillas into the Nature Park and all the way up the highest peak in the mountain range of Sierras Almijara y Tejeda. From its 2.068 meters summit you’ll have one of the most breathtaking views in Andalusia.

There will be a total of 5 hours of trekking on foot, as the last section to the summit is unsuitable for horse riding.
This tour is only scheduled from September till May.

 3 Day Horse Trekking Adventure to Jatar – 545€
Riding ability: Mid level Physical condition: Fairly fit Minimum riders: 4

This adventurous trekking takes you from our stables in Canillas into the Nature Park and over the mountains of Sierras Almijara y Tejeda.

This tour is only scheduled from September till May.
